A visual immersion into the remote Sierra Mazateca of Oaxaca, where mist-shrouded mountains hold ancestral ways of life untouched by time. Through scenes of daily life and ritual, this work documents one of Mexico's last indigenous peoples to resist Spanish conquest, as they navigate between ancient traditions and modernity. Far from the tourist trails and colorful celebrations, these images reveal a deeper Mexico where coffee farmers rise before dawn, where elderly women still weave huipiles by candlelight, and where villages remain suspended in the clouds. A testament to the quiet dignity and enduring spirit of the Mazatec people, who continue to preserve their identity despite mounting pressures from the outside world.
